"HOLI" is the festival of COLOURS where participants play, chase and colour each other with dry colour powder known as GULAL and colour water. From early morning people from all around the city come and gathere at Swariya Seth Temple, Kolkata celebrate HOLI in front of the Idol of Lord KRISHNA.

Shivaratri is greatest festival of convergence of SHIVA(God) and SHAKTI(Power). Shivaratri is a ceremonious occasion celebrated with religious fervor by Hindus all over the India. I took this photograph in the midst of the ongoing festival. People celebrating this festival dress-up as various Hindu Gods, Goddesses and they enact out scenes from Hindu mythology. Here i tried to capture their feelings and expressions while participating in the festival.

COLD WINTER

I took this picture during the winter season in Kolkata. There are many children living in the slums of this area. To combate against the bitterly cold weather in the morning they build bonfires to warm themself.
